Fire Blankets

Commonly associated with tackling chip pan fires, the fire fighting flexibility of the fire blanket is increasingly becoming recognised by fire safety professionals. From personnel to waste bins, offices to canteens, the applications for this accessible, simple to use fire fighting aid are numerous. We stock a range of fire blankets including 1m x 1m, 1.2m x 1.2m, 1.2m x 1.8m and 1.8m x 1.75m. All fire blankets are fully kitemarked to BSEN 1869:1997 and the cloth has a manufacturer’s guarantee. Servicing

British Standards

All Fire Extinguisher Servicing is carried out to the requirements of BS5306-3.

Extinguishers are supplied and fitted in accordance with the requirements of BS 5306:8

Commissioning Service

BS5306-3 requires that all new fire extinguishers have a Commissioning Service at the point of delivery. This means that it must be serviced at the point where it is to be used. It cannot be serviced at a remote location and then delivered to the customer for them to position and install. It assures the end-user that the extinguisher is fit for purpose before it is placed in service.

Basic Service

The Basic Service is carried out at your premises at a time convenient to you. The cost includes all consumable spares that need to be replaced when servicing to BS5306-3. Every extinguisher must have a Basic Service at least annually.

5 Year Extended Service

Water, Foam, Powder and Wet Chemical extinguishers require to be discharge tested every 5 years and refilled with new extinguishing mediums. The Extended Service is in addition to the Basic Service and includes a discharge test, valve service/overhaul, refill with new extinguishing medium and repressurising. This is usually carried out by replacing the unit with a service exchange appliance that is kitemarked to BS EN3.

10 Year Overhaul Service

CO2 Extinguishers require to be Overhauled every 10 years. Overhauls will be carried out by service exchange and replaced with a new appliance kite-marked to BS EN3.
