Fire Training

Fire training is a legal requirement during the induction of new staff and is periodically repeated at suitable intervals during their employment.

Many people are afraid of fire extinguishers because they do not know how to use them or what will happen when they take them off the wall. Training will give your staff the confidence to use an extinguisher in the event of a fire and take away the fear of the unknown.

Basic Training Course

Cost-effective training can be given in the use of portable firefighting equipment available at your premises. The course is fully interactive and is aimed at all personnel who may need to use fire extinguishers provided at your premises. Sessions take up to 90 minutes for a group of up to 10. Each session covers the following subjects:

• An Introduction to the Current Legislation
• Actions to be taken in the event of a Fire
• Chemistry of Fire (The Fire Triangle)
• Classes of Fire
• Types of Fuel
• Types of Fire Extinguisher
• Practical Hands-On Demonstration

Additional content can be included if you have any special requirements specific to your site. If you have training on a regular basis, the course can be slightly amended on each occasion to maintain interest and develop knowledge.

Certificates of Attendance will be sent to each candidate who completes the course.

Fire Warden Course

This course is designed to cover the requirements for a Fire Warden in larger companies. Interaction between the instructor and the candidates is encouraged to enable the companies’ circumstances to be considered at every stage. The course duration is approx 4 hours and covers the following subjects.

• Current Legislation
• Fire Risk Assessments
• The Non-Emergency Role of the Fire Warden
• The Emergency Role of the Fire Warden
• Human Behaviour in a fire
• Actions to take on discovering a fire or hearing an alarm
• Chemistry of Fire
• Classes of Fire
• Types of Fuel
• Types of Fire Extinguisher
• Practical Fire Fighting Demonstration
• Tour of your Premises to highlight discussions during the course

Certificates of Attendance will be sent to each candidate who completes the course.
